I do my homework while the doorbell rings. I lazily get up, stretch, and go to the door. Surprisingly, it was my father.“Good afternoon, dad,” he ignores me.I make a face. My mom comes from upstairs.“How was your day, honey?” “I’m fine,” they kiss each other’s cheek.I trudge to the kitchen chair where I did my homework and I continue solving problems.“Where are the kids?” my dad asks.“Sulli went to the party and Jaesun went with his friend to the movies,” I said.“Did I ask you?” my dad burst.“I’m sorry,” I murmured. My mom caresses my dad’s back.“Can we talk, honey?” my mom asks.“Sure. What is it?” My mom gets something from the pantry for dinner.“Do you remember Han?” she begins. My dad nods. They thought I wasn’t in the conversation, but I was just spying on them and listening.“My grandma taking care of him died and he has nowhere else to go. Everyone in the family has been trying to help try taking him in, but no one seems to have room in the house. I was thinking. What if we adopt him,” my mom squealed.I had shivers down my spine.‘Another boy in the house? I’m going to die.’My dad sits down and my mom sits next to her. I look at them with the corner of my eye. They were next to me and I didn’t want them to know I was listening. My dad holds her hand.“That would be great honey, but it might not be the best decision,” he lectures. He goes to the refrigerator to get some seasonings.“Why? He can’t go anywhere else. My stupid brother already has a family and his mother has a family of her own too,” my mom boasted.I know what Appa will say. “I know, but he might have his own friends, probably his girlfriend, and his personality might have formed already,” he lectures again.“Yes, that’s true,” my mom shut up.“But what matters is he has a home,” my mom says softly and hugs my dad from the back. I make a face. After a full minute, he starts talking. “Fine. We’re going to let him stay for a while and we’ll see what happens next,” they stop embracing and smile at each other.“Oh my gosh. I ‘m going to have a son!” she squeals. She jumps up and down. I roll my eyes. “We have to go shopping. We need to decorate the guest room. We need to buy him clothes. Oooh! This is going to be great!” While my dad smiles, I frown at my mother's childishness. I can't wait to see Luhan. It's been years since I've last met him. Hi~! Here's the first chapter.
