The Arrangement (1/1)
Kai POVAll that I could think of was to hurry and escape from Yoora and everything else attached to it. I haste past all the crowds and head out to fetch my car. Heading straight to Hana's house was now my number 1 priority, nothing else was more important than to check on the one lady that had gone through quite a ride through the event tonight and I'm partly at fault for not preempting her sooner. Which was why I'm regretting it so much that nothing else right now matters except to see her face to give me the sense of assurance that she's not going to be angry with me for not only dragging her to this event but also to be put up as an auctionable item during the event itself. As I reached her house, I could see that only her bedroom lights were switched while the rest lay dead. I stood there for a while, waiting to catch a glimpse of her shadow at her window, but nothing appeared after 10 minutes of staring into it. I decided to text her before announcing my arrival;Kai: Have you turn in for the night?Hana: Nope...reading a book.Kai: Can't sleep?Hana: Yeah...the room is warm, can't seem to get a cosy spot to rest.Kai: You should open the window a little. Let the breeze come in...With that last message sent, I was expecting her to appear at the window to do just what I asked her to do and true enough she complied and appeared right in front looking as beautiful as ever. She had her eyes looking towards the night sky not caring about anything else. "Isn't the view beautiful?" I hollered towards her trying to get her attention. She went on searching for the owner of the voice and realized that that person was none other than me. She turned and smiled towards me while waving her hands frantically as if she had not seen me in ages."Are you going to let me in? Or are you going to leave me out here in the cold?" I asked, breaking the silence engulfing the whole neighbourhood. She disappeared and I heard the clicking sound of the gate as she allowed me to enter her premises. She came down with her large oversized knitted cardigan wrapping her petite body, making her look ridiculously smaller than usual."What are you doing here Jongin? Shouldn't you still be at the event with the rest of the members? Has the event ended?" she began asking while making her way towards me. The first thing I did as I neared her was to embrace her tightly without saying anything to her. But with the questions, she began to sound like my late mother whom sticked to calling his son Jongin instead of the abbreviated name people address me as. The more I look at her the more Hana began to resemble mother, which breaks my heart sometimes."Nah...I ditched it. It was too boring that I almost make a hole with my eyes on the napkin." I tried joking with her. "Jongin, that was not nice. You know your Dad won't be happy about this. You're old enough not to behave like a teenager!" she reprimanded."I can't help it Hana, you left without telling me. My mind was elsewhere but there, so I figured since I can't stop thinking of you I should come and see you for myself." I attempted to justify myself. "I didn't go away without informing you about my departure, I told Baekhyun to tell you. How come he did not pass the message to you? Gosh I can't depend on that boy!" Hana began panicking, trying to find an answer to counter my excuse. I grabbed her small shoulders bringing her closer for me to embrace her tightly. Despite the cold weather, Hana was warmer than the surrounding emitting it towards me. "I was just playing with you silly, Baekhyun hyung did inform me but in the end I still ditched it because my bidder was boring," I told her frankly. "Ouh...so someone did bid for you? You mean someone actually thought of you?" she asked sounding rather sarcastic. "Hey what was that suppose to mean you lady? Are you moking me right now?" I poked the side of her torso attempting to tickle her. She was quick to respond and had fell against my body due to the sudden attack. "Jongin! Stop it will you! You'll wake the rest of the neighbours you know that!" she nagged. "Well then, let's take it in the room so that we can make all the noise we want." I tried teasing her.I could see that she was blushing the moment I said that, her cheeks turned red under the porch light we were standing at and her palms was getting sweaty as I held her hands. She did not utter anything but stood there avoiding my gaze throughout the whole time."I was just joking silly! But really, it's getting cold out here don't you want to bring your poor boyfriend in so that I could at least have a cup of coffee please?" I begged her. Her face quickly turned from the anxious, nervous Hana to the smiley, cheerful self. "Is this your way of trying to get into a girl's house when their parents are out of the house?" she asked, "Because I'm not going to be deceived by you, Mr Kai." She lead me into her humble abode. "So now I'm called Kai and not Jongin?" I loosen my grasped, "and to answer that question you asked earlier, it's a no. I don't break into a girl's house when their parents are out. Usually it'll be the other way round, the girls will be chasing for me," I declared proudly. She pushed my hands away from her shoulder, "Don't be so full of it Kai. And to answer your question, I guess you're Kai when you start boasting and bossing me around. But you're only Jongin when you...." long pause and no answer, "nevermind, forget I even answered your question," she explained. Hana POVI regretted having invited Kai into my house, now I don't know what I'm suppose to do with him...I mean, what am I even imagining! Hana! You have got to stop thinking to much, you just invited him in because it's cold outside and as a host invited him inside as a form of kind gesture. However his very presence in my house is sending chills down my spine. "When was the last time you invited me in Hana?" he asked, breaking the stillness in the living room. "I don't know...maybe during the time you gave me the bracelet?" I tried answering making myself sound like I'm unsure when I actually knew very well it was that very day. "Really? That long... I should come here more often if I want to see you," he suggested giving that signature smirk while looking at me. I turned towards the kitchen to avoid his gaze which I noticed he develops whenever he wanted TLC from me. "Coffee or Tea?" I asked, trying to get myself distracted. "Can I have you instead?" he kept his smirk on causing me more distressed."Very funny young man..." I brought his coffee which he preferred more than tea. I sat across him causing more awkwardness to the situation. "Why are you sitting there? Don't worry, I'm not going to eat you." He gestured towards the empty space beside him. I walked slowly to him, and cuddled his body tight. His body was lean, which I realize are the kind of men I like and he was warm which was a total opposite of me."Why are your hands so cold?" he suddenly asked as he caresses my hands while holding it tight. "I've always been like that....you mean you didn't know?" I blurted only to realize it sounded like my body temperature does matters at this moment. "All the more you have to hug and cuddle me, so that you're not cold," he smirked. We remained silent for quite sometimes that both of us didn't realize that it was getting late. Actually I thought I dozed off for awhile there finally getting the comfort that I was looking for. Noticing that Jongin was yet in another long episode of his daze, I adjusted myself and sat properly facing him."What's wrong Jongin? Did something bad happened at the event just now?" I asked. "I knew that sudden episode that happened on the red carpet shouldn't have taken place. President Kim must have grounded you or something now....what are we going to do?" I started panicking. He smiled and grabbed my hands in order to get my attention, "Hana, nothing happened, I just... have a lot on my plate right now that's all." He brought my hands closer to his chest, "and all I need right now is you here to comfort me. That's why I came in the first place..." he glanced straight at me. "Can I ask you that favour?" he asked, his faced changed to the serious Jongin which I rarely saw.It took me a few good minutes to finally digest the favour he had asked of me to do. "I'm sorry...I didn't realize that you were so down just now, I should have stayed with you throughout the whole auction too," I held his hands tighter, looing straight in his eyes. His face softened, "And I'm sorry I had to put you through all that just now, without mentioning it to you earlier Hana," he traced his right hand nearer to my neck, bringing me closer to him.The both of us continued gazing at each other's eyes not once breaking the moment. The intensity got higher when he suddenly pulled my head closer to his which cause our lips to meet. I didn't stop him, because right now I think that was what I needed as well. A sign that he really meant every actions that he took earlier to prove his love for me. Our lips continued on, evoking the desire to comfort each other more. We momentarily parted, giving me the chance to look at his face trying to read him if I could to know what he's thinking right now. I held me closer and slower held me down on the couch closing the gap between us, our lips continued to get acquainted as honestly, we have never gone beyond hugs and mere pecks.Should we go further and listen to our desire or should we stop and return to becoming responsible people like we should be?"Jongin, it's getting late," I parted away from him, "you should be going home. President Kim will be worried after what has happened." He straightened up and sat back, "You know, my Dad had purposely arranged me with someone earlier tonight." He let go of me and was fidgeting with his fingers, "I've seen it coming, that's why I kissed you right in from of the reporters earlier. I thought that by doing that, he would stop arranging my life and decide to call off his plan," he continued. "But he was feeling so proud about arranging the meetup for me. You know how my Dad could be right Hana?" he looked at me. I stared at him and went on to cuddle him, "Jongin, I understand that it's hard for you right now. Why not you go back and talk to him, instead of jumping into conclusion too fast. Maybe that girl could be your business partner and he would like to set you up to work on a project together." I suggested."Now I want you to go back and get some rest. Talk to him when you're ready and apologize about the incident that happened earlier." I advised him. "You really think it would work out Hana?" he doubted. "It's worth a try, at least you did something. And if you needed me to convince him, I would personally call him and apologize about the incident." I added. "But it wasn't your idea in the first place Hana. I was the rash one which brought you into the trouble," his eyes gazing right into mine looking remorseful. "Then we could show him that we really meant it, but for now we have to concentrate on our careers instead of yondering about our relationship." I said taking the step to be the mature one.It took Jongin awhile to be convinced that this was what we should be doing. He went home straightaway, after the discussion, leaving me all alone again in this abode. From the beginning, I already knew that my ties with Jongin wasn't what President Kim would have wanted in the first place. I realized from the moment he started giving cold shoulders towards me, only that he did not really made obvious for me and Jongin to see or feel. For now, lets just maintain things as it is while I try to find out the real reason why President Kim and came to meet me in the first place. He must have some ulterior motives which led him to help me right after my parents passed. I can't tell Jongin what I know because what I've gathered or know so far is too little in order to convinced him. That boy, doesn't know anything at all and yet he's being surrounded by an invisible wall which his Dad had built up for him. He's already showing signs of breaking out of this wall and if things happened too quickly, Jongin might be too shocked to learn all the facts by himself.Hey readers! I can't sleep so I decided to finish up this portion which I had left like that for ages. I really hope you understand that I can't update regularly due to work. But I sincerely hoped that you've been enjoying the read so far. I try to make my plots as realistic as possible and not just mere fantasizing as I personally think a good story should consider practicalism in real context in some matters. Anyways, bear with me with my long chapters but I'm a visual reader so my chapters could be long but I would like my readers to understand and visual the settings and understand the emotions of the characters.Do rate, criticize and comment about my writing while suggesting what should happen next! (I very much am open to all ideas)Till next time....
