Lies Chp. 6“Thinking”“Speaking”___________What. The. Fuck.Sungjae was sitting in the bedroom on his bunk, feet dangling over the edge, staring into space. He never thought he’d say this but he really despised his hyung. Ilhoon knew, he knew! He knew how Sungjae felt about Peniel and yet he’s dating him!“Ugh!” Sungjae huffed falling back, bumping his head on the wall but not even caring. He didn’t know how to handle this. It’s only been a few hours since he found out and he had so many questions.Hyung, why? If you knew, then why? You were the first person I told, before Minhyuk-hyung found out, I thought you supported me? Peniel-hyung do you really like him that much? Is there no room for me in your heart? Ilhoon-hyung, you bastard! He was mine! I was going to confess but you stole him away!“That jerk better be glad he had to get ready for his last schedule…” Sungjae mumbled to himself.He would have cornered Ilhoon but his hyung had to get ready for his next schedule and Peniel wouldn’t leave his side. Sungjae didn’t want to show his anger to Peniel so he just came to their room and pretended to take a nap. He would have tried to get some answers from Peniel too, but he went with Ilhoon.“Yah, Sungjae-ah,” Minhyuk called from the door to their room.Sungjae turned his head to look at his hyung solemnly.“Aish,” Minhyuk breathed out walking into the room to stand below the younger’s bunk, “Sungjae don’t look like that.”Sungjae sat up and looked down at his hyung and smiled sadly, “Then should I be all smiles?”Minhyuk stayed silent thinking of what he could say to help the maknae.“Hyung, my heart is breaking every time I think about them. Hyung, Ilhoon knew!” Sungjae cried out.“Yeah, you told me. But, really…I don’t think they are dating.” Minhyuk told the boy his thoughts.“From what I know, and researched, Peniel likes you, Sungjae. He likes you.”“Then why is he with Ilhoon-hyung?!” Sungjae demanded to know.“That- That I don’t know…but I’ll definitely find out.” The older boy stated seriously.Sungjae stared at his hyung and sighed. Shaking his head, he climbed down from his bunk. Minhyuk clapped a hand on his shoulder as the two walked out of the room._____________“You want to come in?”“No, I’ll wait here for you.”“You sure?”“Yeah, I don’t want to be in the way,” Peniel smiled to the young rapper as he prepared to go start his radio interview.“Okay, suit yourself.” Ilhoon said with a shrug and walked through the glass door to the area where the radio host and equipment were.Peniel looked around and took a seat out of the way of the tech guys but where he could still see his dongsaeng through the glass window between the two rooms.He hadn’t planned to come with Ilhoon, but knowing Sungjae, and probably Minhyuk too, would question him, he asked if he could tag along until they got things figured out. He didn’t think he could face Sungjae by himself, especially since he just lied to him. Peniel wanted to talk to Ilhoon about what they were going to do and how long they would be “boyfriends”.This is crazy. This better work out or else…shit’s just gonna be really bad if this doesn’t work. I wonder how Ilhoon even thought of this idea. Sungjae-ah…I’m angry. How could you? Out of everyone I believed I could trust you the most, but I was wrong. Will you be jealous? You have Minhyuk-hyung, who’s really attractive and nice so probably not. Should I even continue this then?The interview had started about 20 minutes ago and Peniel was already lost in his thoughts. Ilhoon peeked at him through the window and just shook his head. He was glad that Peniel came with him. If he had left him at home with the other two members then his plan probably have been ruined by now and Peniel would have broken down in front of the others. Though he had his own interests in mind, he really did feel bad for Peniel; and if he could help him while also getting what he wanted too, then great.Peniel broke out of his trance with a slight jerk. He glanced around slyly then looked into the recording room. He and Ilhoon caught eyes for a second then looked away quickly. Ilhoon answered a question and focused back on his interview while Peniel watched him as he laughed at something the MC said. If he must admit, the young rapper was really handsome.We all know he’s the cutest one in our group, as the gwiyomi king he has to be, but, because I only had eyes for Sungjae, I never really paid attention to the other members’ attractive features that much. His orange-ish brown hair really suits him well; the stylist noona did a good job. I wonder what it’s going to be like as his ‘boyfriend’.“Heh, it’s probably gonna be troublesome,” Peniel mumbled to himself.With that feisty attitude of his, I don’t think I could handle him (in normal circumstances). He doesn’t like skinship that much either, or so he claims. But I like to have skinship with my special person…Peniel let out a small sigh then jumped when a hand landed on his shoulder.“I’m done, let’s go,” Ilhoon announced as he looked down at his hyung. Peniel nodded and followed him out of the building.“What now?” Peniel questioned him as they walked along.“I’m hungry. Let’s go eat and then we can talk about earlier.” Ilhoon stated as he kept walking headed to a destination only he knew.Peniel just followed along obediently.____________“Ah~ food always makes things better,” Sungjae said with a smile and handing his menu to the waitress.“Agreed,” Minhyuk said across from him and handed his menu to the waitress as well.

Neither of them had wanted to cook but they were hungry, which wasn’t making their situation any better. So, as a way to take their mind off of the new couple and fill their bellies, Minhyuk suggested they go out to eat.They didn’t want to go too far because it was getting late and they had schedule early the next day, so the small restaurant they picked was about two blocks away from their dorm. They had been there before with the others once and it was really good, so they decided just the two of them would stop by tonight.“It’s been a long day,” Sungjae sighed._____________As they walked along, Peniel got an idea of where they might be going because of the familiar scenery. They kept getting closer to the dorm so he figured they’d go to a little café nearby.“Are you sure you want to go to the café near the dorms? What if one of the others is there?” Peniel asked curiously.Ilhoon looked at the young man walking beside him and grinned, “We’re not. Remember that restaurant we went to once about two blocks from the dorm?”“Yeah,” Peniel said thinking back to that day they all shared a nice meal together without worrying about schedules or fans.“Well, that’s where we are going since it’s not so close by, but it won’t take forever to get home after we are done either.” Ilhoon stated matter-of-factly.“Oh, okay. Smart choice,” Peniel said grinning.______________“Waah~ kamsabnida!” Minhyuk said to the waitress as their food was placed in front of them. It looked so yummy!“Kamsabnida!” Sungjae said smiling widely, picking up his fork.“Enjoy your meal,” the waitress said with a bow and left.“Mmm, this is so good,” Minhyuk said after taking his first bite.“It is~!” Sungjae agreed eating some himself. He looked around as he chewed his food, and his eyes stopped on the door.“What?” Minhyuk asked looking behind him. He froze mid chew.Peniel and Ilhoon had just walked through the door.______________As the two boys made it to the restaurant, Peniel held the door open for his dongsaeng as they entered. That’s why Ilhoon was the first to notice their audience and quickly take action.Ilhoon pretended he didn’t see Sungjae and Minhyuk three booths away from the door watching them as he casually slipped his arm around Peniel’s waist, who in turn out of reflex placed his arm around the other’s waist as well not thinking anything of it.“Waah~, it smells good in here. I can’t wait to eat!” Peniel said turning to Ilhoon excitedly.Ilhoon smiled back, “Yeah, but look, we have company.”Peniel glanced around, not seeing anyone at first, but then noticing Sungjae and Minhyuk a few tables away eating. His breathe hitched and he looked back at Ilhoon.“Should we leave?”“Nah, just follow my lead, okay.” Ilhoon said as a waitress came and took them to a booth on the opposite side of the room with a clear view of Minhyuk and Sungjae’s table. They could see them too if they wanted too._________________As the two boys were brought to their table, Ilhoon led Peniel to the side where they could see their audience and sat next to him in the booth instead of across. Peniel was next to the wall with Ilhoon on the outside. The waitress for their table almost squealed as she handed them their menus because she thought they were a real couple on a date.“Do you guys know what you would like to drink, or do you need a moment?” she asked.“Give us a moment please,” Ilhoon said looking to Peniel for confirmation, whom in turn nodded to the girl with a smile.“Okay,” she said then left to go to another table.As she walked away, Ilhoon opened his menu and held it up so that it would hide his and Peniel’s face as he spoke.“So here’s the deal, since they are here, just act like you would on any other date with someone you liked. Try not to look at them though,” he said.“Okay. What if one of them decides to come over here, though?” Peniel asked.“I don’t think they will.” Ilhoon said lowering his menu to a normal level.“Okay…” Peniel said looking over his own menu before deciding what he wanted. He looked over to the table with Minhyuk and Sungjae. Were they on a date? He hoped not.Unknown to him, Sungjae was thinking the same thing. He had a perfect view of his two hyungs from their booth, though Minhyuk would have to turn around to see them. He frowned as he continued to eat.“What happened?” Minhyuk questioned him eagerly since he couldn’t see the two.“Nothing, they’re just looking at the menus. But why is Ilhoon-hyung sitting so close to him?!” Sungjae said harshly.“Huh? He’s not sitting across from him?” Minhyuk said trying to glance back at the two inconspicuously.“No! He’s right next to him! I bet he’s so close their thighs are touching!” Sungjae huffed with a frown as he chomped on his food.“Woah, he’s bold,” Minhyuk said after catching a glimpse of their targets.“Ah, the waitress is in the way, I can’t see them. Wait…aish don’t hold his hand!” Sungjae wined as Peniel took Ilhoon’s hand smiling at the waitress as she left with their order.“Haha, well that was unexpected,” Ilhoon chuckled lightly and squeezed Peniel’s hand as the waitress left.“Haha, yeah, I can’t believe she said we looked cute together!” Peniel said grinning at the male beside him.Ilhoon pouted playfully and did aegyo holding Peniel’s hand.“Oppa~, you don’t think I’m cute?” He said jokingly.“Ah, of course I do~! How could I not with your adorable face!” Peniel joked back pinching the rappers cheek only to get a laugh and his hand swatted away.“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” Ilhoon smiled glancing at their audience, “Haha, Sungjae is having a mental breakdown!”Peniel sneakily glanced around the younger to the table with their maknae to see him grabbing at his hair as if he were frustrated.Which he was.“Why are they being so cute~?” Sungjae wined and grabbed his hair.Minhyuk watched their maknae freak out and shook his head. If only there was some way they could invite themselves over to their table and intervene.“Ilhoonie! Peniel! I didn’t know any of the other members were gonna be here too!” Changsub half shouted as he, Hyunsik, and Eunkwang entered and were sat with one table between them.“Oh! Sungjae-ah and Minhyuk, too?” Eunkwang said as he was about to take a seat when he noticed the two.Sungjae and Minhyuk sat on one side of the room, an empty table, Changsub and the others, a table, and Peniel and Ilhoon.“Hey guys,” Peniel greeted nervously next to Ilhoon.________________Yosh!
