Jealousy (1/1)

Chapter 6   Minho's POV—          I shouldn't have said that. My reason for making this decision in the first place was to get closer with her, but I've just brought us farther away. Her last question was more of a demand to keep me away, and I realized when she started to run away from me— again.     Without thinking, I followed after her, but still wondered is this the right thing to do? We're both pretty fast— being vampires, but chasing seemed useless at this point. Not because she's faster than me, but because I knew it would drive the gap between us larger.      I had to stop, and give both of us time to breathe before confronting her again.         After watching her run for her life, after I even stopped, all ties were cut with me. Or Jaehyo. Seeing her made me question why I came. To get closure? To just see her? Or to become friends with her? These simple ideas I kept rethinking were all false. I found that I came her for a much more complex reason.      While she had a huge group of friends everyday, I watched how she looked at them. Every single day for the past two weeks. With them, there was a much happier side to her that was unknown to me. As if they tore her walls, I saw that she was much more than the sarcastic and reserved girl I knew.     And as creepy as it is to watch her like this, I've come to realize how much I miss her.        As for Aerri, the only times Jaehyo would cross her mind was when she saw him. It was bittersweet— they've avoided each other as much as possible, but sometimes it only drew them to be in each other's company. However, today, the gods seemed to be working in her favor, and she thought so when she found he was absent. And as weird as she found their last conversation, it easy not to dwell on it because she had distractions.     At lunch, Aerri found herself between Luhan and Sehun, as per usual. And although she felt that everything was going well, someone didn't.    "Hey, Aerri, I've been meaning to ask you something." Sehun stated as he leaned against the tree the group was hanging out at.     "What is it?" Aerri really had no idea, but that question always made her nervous— for obvious reasons.     "Guys, I'll be back." Luhan commented, basically to himself since everyone was engaged in their own conversations. He didn't mind, though. A few of them took quick looks after he left, heading toward the bathroom.     "So, I've been thinking about the Showcase lately, and I really want to beat Kai and Lay this year. I know it sounds a little immature, but I'm always second best next to them and I'd really like to change that. Even just this once." He turned himself to face the tree, looking down as he spoke with a small smile. He took a pause before looking back up at her, "I really think you and I could beat them if we entered. Would you like to do it with me?"     Aerri peered at him, finding his rambling and shy gestures cute. She would never admit that, though. "So, you just want to dance with me to beat our friends?" She teased him, finding it hard not to like his reaction whenever she did so.     His eyes widened, shaking his hands in front of him frantically, "N-no, no. I didn't mean it like that. I just worded it wrong, I really want to perform with you genuinely, and—"     Aerri laughed at some more of his rambling, "Sehun, chill. I was just kidding," She flashed a genuine grin. Sehun sighed before pushing her shoulder ever-so-lightly, telling her not to tease him like that.     "Hey, if you want, we can start dancing now," He suggested after re composing himself, gesturing toward the direction of the practice rooms.     "Sure, since you took so long to ask we'll have to get started right away," She teased again, earning the longest explanation as to why it took him so long to ask as they headed toward the practice rooms.     Luhan had just returned from the bathroom, looking around for the girl he's become so fond of being around. He found that Sehun was gone as well, and looked for the first place they'd go. Indeed, he found them, a rush of complex feelings ran through him as they walked toward the practice rooms— just the two of them, together.     His body acted before his mind and the next thing he knew, he was slyly following them along the way. Why would Sehun do that? He should k
