Prince Charming vs. Reality
ever since she was a kid, gu hyebin was the dreamer type. the one who believes in love at first sight, soulmates, the red string and fate. just like any other girls, hyebin believes that her prince charming is going to come someday. but sometimes, that prince charming wont live up to your expectations. Forewordprologue; The little girl hugged the stuffed teddy bear tighter, her eyes fixed on the tv screen as the Disney movie reached its climax. Her parents laughed in amusement when Hyebin squealed at the prince and princess kissing. As the princess opened her eyes, the 7-year-old Hyebin clapped her hands excitedly and turned back to her parents with a pleased grin plastered on her face."Mom, that was good wasnt it?" Hyebin questioned, raising a thumbs up at her mother and nodding. Tapping her index finger on her lips, Hyebins mother avoided her daughters gaze and pretended to think. It was probably the fifth time Hyebin had insisted to watch Snow White, her reaction and questions were the same for every time. To be quite honest, Hyebins mother was sick of the movie also."I dont know, Hyebin. Its been the 99th time weve watched this movie." Hyebins mother pursed her lips out, having fun teasing her daughter as she tilted her head from side to side. Hyebin furrowed her eyebrows, unsatisfied with her mothers reply, she grabbed her teddy bear and waddled her way over to her mother."It was good right, mom? It was really really good, right?" Hyebin blinked her round eyes at her mother, straining her neck to be able to see her mothers face. Hyebins mother hummed a tune and looked elsewhere, seemingly unaware of Hyebins presence, earning laughters from her husband. With a huff, Hyebin held onto her mothers ankle stubbornly. "Mom, tell me its good. It was good, right?""Yes, it was. Satisfied?" Hyebins mother ruffled her daughters hair, chuckling. Hyebin nodded in joy and sat down criss-crossed on the spot. She squinted her eyes and looked at her teddy bear in its eyes, turning the stuffed toy one way then another to observe. Her mother also squatted down to Hyebins level, curious of what she was doing. "What are you doing, Hyebin?""Mom, what if this teddy bear is alive? Like, what if its a prince under a curse?" Hyebin lifted her head from the chestnut-coloured teddy bear, her eyes twinkling as she anticipated her answer. A small laugh escaped her mothers lips. "What if hes my Prince Charming?""Ey, its just a lifeless toy, darling." Her mother patted the teddy bears head, "It wont turn into anything else." Hyebin looked at her teddy sadly and sighed. After watching multiple films, Hyebin was sure that the teddy could be a prince, or at least alive."Wheres my Prince Charming at, then?" authors notes;title- prince charming vs. realityday started- 2013.08.08day ended- tbahello people, its j-ihoons here with another story! yeah, im just that impatient (something i need to work on ; A ;). i deleted my previous two stories, one because i lost inspiration to write it while the other being i was too insecure and pressured about my writing style o n o. im just going to stick with just this one story so i can focus more this time! this story was originally for jihoon or chan because they were both my biases, but i thought mingyu might fit the role better so yeah... just so you know, haha!
