Byun Baekhyun helms the 9PM to 1AM night show called ‘Love Songs with Baekhyun’, the most popular radio show on the airwaves amongst youths and adults alike. With his charming eye smile and velvety smooth voice, it was no wonder that he has accumulated quite a fan base for himself. He took song dedications and messages and even gave advices to listeners who called in with their love problems – and he was doing such a fine job at it that nobody ever paused to reconsider his experience in the field of love. Switching up the pace here as we ease into midnight!” turning off his microphone, Baekhyun pulled his headphones off and raised a brow at the Programming Director who came into the studio mid talkset. “Bumped into a couple of fangirls who have snacks for you.” the blonde man shrugged and passed a paper bag over. “Oh. Thanks!” Baekhyun grinned as he peeled open a packet of chips. “But what are you doing here? It’s long after office hours.” “Take a look at this and tease about it in your next talkset.” “Huh?” setting aside the bag of chips, Baekhyun quickly scanned the piece of paper before frowning. “Who is Park Chanyeol and why is he taking over my show?” The blonde man mentally face palmed before pointing his finger at the paper. “Firstly, it’s stated here that he is a novelist.” Moving his finger down a few lines, he continued. “Secondly, he’s not taking over your show. He only has a small segment on your show.” “I don’t think 1-hour during the peak hour at 10PM is a small segment.” Baekhyun glanced up with exasperated eyes. “Are you kidding me? I haven’t even heard of him before this! How does he even sound like? How can you put him on air, on my show?” “I had a long meeting with the bosses and they decided this, not me.” The man slumped into the chair opposite Baekhyun. “Suho,” Baekhyun looked at the weary man and felt just slightly bad, but what has to be said has to be said. “You have to tell them no. You’re the Programming Director for God’s sake!”   “Already did, and failed. He comes on air with you next week onwards so make sure you tease in all your talksets. Oh, and drop in early tomorrow to record a trailer for this new segment.” Baekhyun might be the most popular jock in the industry, but he is also a man of insecurities. From a part time jock who sat in when the full time jocks went away to finally helming his own show on weekday nights, he has worked countless long hours to hone his skills. Yet this nobody is coming onto his show and taking up an entire segment! Technically Chanyeol doesn’t get to talk nonstop for the entire hour as he is only reading part of the story for one talkset and spending the rest of the time answering calls and taking comments from listeners while the music resumes on air, but Baekhyun still didn’t like that. If the man was a novelist, he’s surely someone who has vivid imagination, fantastic deduction skills, and lots of experience in love. While he would never be able to take Baekhyun’s job away from him, he would find out that Baekhyun has had zero experience in love. Baekhyun doesn’t need anyone to find out about that. He isn’t willing to take that risk when he is hosting a radio show revolving around love and relationships. But everything is set and now he would have no choice but to find a way to drive the man away before he finds out about his little secret.  A/N Maybe fluff? I dont know, but all of a sudden I just really wanted to write a story that wasnt about angst, vengeance, or complicated love triangles (ahem Fairytale series). Just a simple story about two people falling in love without expecting it. Not really love at first sight, but just gradually being attracted to each other. A wee bit of denial, but not those where the leads go in circles for twenty chapters before getting together (ahem Project Heartbreaker). And I just really wanted some ChanBaek so here!
