Spring 2014Sooyoung couldn’t believe it was finally going to happen. The meeting with Lee Sooman had felt so surreal and even now as she stood in the embrace of the other three girls, all crying their hearts out, it felt like a dream. Everything had happened so fast, the moment she entered the building she was immediately called into an office she had never been before and asked to have a seat beside three nervous and equally confused unnies she had trained with, Bae Juhyun, Kang Seulgi, and Son Seungwan or Wendy as everyone called her. Without a moment’s haste, Lee Sooman soon entered the room, followed closely by Kim Youngmin.“Bae Juhyun. Kang Seulgi. Son Seungwan. Park Sooyoung.” Lee Sooman had said with a very serious face that for a split second Sooyoung had thought she had done something wrong. “Congratulations,” he broke into a smile “the four of you will now be known as Red Velvet!” Red Velvet, the name of a delicious cake, the name bestowed upon them by the company, and the name Sooyoung would learn to cherish. She knew it was going to take a while before she got used the name, she could care less about it for all that matter was the fact that she actually going to debut.The company had given them the day off to celebrate with their loved ones and after congratulating one another, the four girls went their separate ways.Her parents had congratulated her and her sisters were ecstatic for her and so to celebrate the good news, the family of five, made a reservation to one of Sooyoung’s restaurant. Sooyoung couldn’t have been happier and when all was said and done, Sooyoung finally excused herself from her family. There was one more person she wanted to tell before the day was over. The only person at school who knew of her current occupation. Someone who said they’ll always be there for her when she wanted to talk.Putting on a light jacket she race to the place he was supposedly waiting for her. She couldn’t wait to tell him, after all he had supported her in her times of hardships and she was sure he would always be there for her even after her debut.Spotting the familiar figure of Junhong sitting on a bench waiting for her, she couldn’t help but smile. Wanting to treasure his peaceful gaze, she quickly snapped a photo of him with her phone before racing forward towards him.“Junhong-ah!” She shouted, as she neared him and instead of a smile like usual she was greeted with a scowl.“Don’t shout my name so loud you dummy,” he said as she felt a knock on her head. It took her a second to realize that Junhong had hit her on her head.“Yah, that hurt,” she pouted rubbing the spot where he had hit.“Sorry,” he said as a look of guilt consumed his face and then quickly started rubbing her head as well. Sooyoung relished at the fact that Junhong was touching her head once again and smiled at how silly Junhong could be. Somehow, after the incident when she had unintentionally cried in front of him and he had attempted to comfort her by patting her head Junhong picked up the habit of patting her head whenever she was feeling down or sad. She didn’t know if he, himself knew of his little habit, but every time she was down she knew she could count on him. All she had to do was frown a little bit and look sadly at the ground before she felt a pat on her head. From a bystander’s point of view, the action would seem a little awkward and maybe a little bit forced, but she knew it came from his heart when he patted her head and truth to be told, she somehow always felt better.“Forgive me?” He asked with puppy eyes no one could say no to and when she nodded her head he gave her a questioning look, “mind telling me what was so important that I had to risk getting in trouble to meet you?”♥♥♥“Congratulate me!” She said happily, much to Junhong’s confusion, but he obliged none the less. A happy Sooyoung was always better than an annoyed Sooyoung.“Congratul-YOU’RE DEBUTING?” He shouted, realization finally dawning on him.It was Sooyoung’s turn to hit him, “YAH, not so loud you dummy, but yes I am debuting. Mr. Lee Sooman called us in today to tell us the news.” Junhong didn’t have to see her face to tell that she was beaming. Her voice alone conveyed the happiness she was feeling and he couldn’t have felt happier for her. Debuting was every trainee’s dream and Sooyoung was one step closer to that dream.“So tell me, what’s your group’s name?” He asked, eyes full of curiosity.“Not telling you,” she cheekily said as she placed her finger on her lips.“Aw come on. You can’t just tell me you’re debuting and not expect me to be curious about it. They have to have told you guys. I mean I bet they probably have everything planned out already from the group name, the song, and the concept. Sooyoung tell me,” he whined, something he didn’t do often but the news was too good to pass up. Imagine, getting the inside scoop on SM before the public.“Yah, Park Sooyoung are you really not going to tell me?” When she didn’t say anything and shook her head with her cheeky smile plastered on her face, Junhong knew he was going to have to use the guilt trip. He didn’t want to do it, but she gave him no choice. It worked every time.“Do you know how hard it was for me to come out and meet you? I could be sleeping right now, you know I haven’t been getting much sleep lately,” and as he had predicted, she gave in.“Alright fine, fine. No need to guilt trip me,” she pouted, “you’re no fun. If you must know, it’s Red Velvet.”“Red Velvet? As in the cake? Really?” He laughed. Red velvet wasn’t a girl group name. There was no way SM, one of the big three, would really name a group after a cake right?“Yep, Red Velvet, just like the cake.” He had thought she was joking, but upon looking at her face he knew she wasn’t and felt bad for laughing.“It’s not a bad name. Very unique. You guys will definitely be remembered.”“Yeah, I’m just glad I’m debuting to be honest. They could’ve have called us Mud Pies and I probably still be happy.”“So tell me more about Red Velvet,” he was going to get the most out of her.“There’s really not much to tell you. I mean they literally called us in there and told us we were going to debut as Red Velvet, but before you get all whining and all, I promise to keep you updated. Well I mean as much as I can without exposing too much.”Junhong squinted his eyes at her, he doubted he would be getting any more information from her, he knew how strict companies were with their plans and all, but it was a nice thought that Sooyoung was willing to include him in her life. Heck, he was grateful he was even sitting beside her at the moment celebrating the news of her debut with her.“Wait here,” he commanded rather abruptly before sprinting off to the nearest convenience store. If only she had told him through text, he could’ve prepared something for her. He didn’t know where he would’ve had the time to do such a thing, but he would’ve found time.Running back to the bench he handed her a can drink.“Sorry I couldn’t prepare anything beforehand, but we should celebrate.”“To Sooyoung and Red Velvet!” He toasted, before touching his can drink against hers.“Congratulations Sooyoung,” he said once more after he had finished his drink.“You already congratulated me,” she laughed.“I know, but you’ve worked hard for it. Just remember that the journey doesn’t end here. It has only just begun and it’s going to get harder but just keep pushing through and I have no doubt you’ll make it big. There will be times when you want to give up, like really give up, but just remember all the hard work and dedication you’ve put into this and know that there will always be people backing you up.” He hadn’t meant for it to sound so serious, but he had been an idol long enough to witness the cruelty of KPOP. Not everyone was as welcoming and there will always be people who will hate for no apparent reason. It was something every group goes through and will forever have to go through.“Spoken like a true sunbae,” she joked and Junhong suddenly felt shy. Yongguk must be rubbing off on him.“Junhong?” He never realized the power of her voice, but with one mere word she had somehow changed the serious atmosphere to a calm, peaceful one.“Yeah?” He answered turning to face her. His eyes making contact with hers.“Thank you,” she beamed and as he stared into her eyes, he felt something ignite inside of him. His eyes wandered to where her lips were located and his body was suddenly consumed with a passion so strong that it took him everything he had to resist the urge to kiss her.It was Sooyoung who broke away from their gaze first and Junhong wondered if she had felt it too. He watched as she tilted her head to head slightly back to gaze at the moon. The light from the moon shone brightly across her face and Junhong couldn’t help but stare in awe at her beauty.  As he continued to stare, a thought crossed his mind causing a sad smile appear on his face.His time with her was slowly ending. Once she debuts as an idol, it would be almost impossible to spend time like this with her again. She would no longer be known as Park Sooyoung the transfer student, or Park Sooyoung, Junhong’s classmate. No, she would forever be known as Red Velvet’s Park Sooyoung and all eyes would be on her.<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>Well, this just took me forever to update. Sorry, I really am. I've just been really busy (even thought I posted a new story, but haven't updated that as well) and was finding it hard to write, but I'm back...maybe. Anyway enjoy and yes, Sooyoung is finally going to debut...lol not really though cause she still has a few months before then. Oh and Junhong almost kissed Sooyoung....gasp! LolI have a question for you guys, does anyone know what's going up with BAP? I've stated before that I don't actually really follow them so I really have no clue what's going with them. I know of the lawsuit, but that's about it. I've tried visiting a few fansite/blogs and I still don't undestand anything and all I see are pictures of like BAP at airports or at fansites with pretty recent dates but I don't know if they were just reposting old pictures. I know Yongguk just recently released a song, but was that with TS Entertainment? Is there a kind soul who wouldn't mind enlightening me a bit or directed me to a page where I can read a little bit on it. I'm not going to dwelve too much into the lawsuit in the story but I would like to mention it.Thank you!
